Wonder Girls - So Hot - 122608 KBS Music Bank Year-End Special

I was reading some posts about Wonder Girls on YeEun-holic and I found out about this performance. So I immediately searched for the vid on Youtube. As expected, their performance was amazing. I love Sohee's hairstyle here. I noticed SunYe was having some mic problems but she still rocked it. like a professional. And also, I have to agree that Sohee has improved a lot. Her voice sounded much closer to the recording now as compared to her previous performances of this song. And of course, YeEun did great as usual.

ay tamad.

It's the 29th of December, three more days before the new year comes, and here I am in our office 'trying' to work. I arrived around 12PM and from that time, I was only able to change my password because it will expire in nine days, check my office email and yahoo mail, print the proxy statement of the company assigned to me, delete some unused files, and then check folders for unwanted stuffs. hehe. As for work itself, I'm getting there... Hinihintay ko lang ganahan akong basahin itong proxy statement sa tabi ko.

I miss home! In fact, I was wondering why I even volunteered to come to work and put an end to what's supposed to be a Looong holiday break. Although we'll get paid naman, the thing is, I'd rather be at home than get paid double. Hehe. Sometimes, I really do question my decisions.

Anyway, I've got nothing much to do today. Aside from that one company that was assigned to me, I have nothing else to do for the rest of the day. And I plan to stay until 7 or 8PM. What to do? Maybe feed myself some more kpop info?Hehe.

SHINee - AMIGO

Here's SHINee's newest MV and their newest song 'AMiGo'. I hadn't been checking kpop news lately that's why i wasn't aware that they released a new music video and that they have a new song. I don't know when this was released but its the title song of their repackaged album.

About the song, i thought amigo means the spanish word of 'friend' but it isn't. It's like an acronym of some sort. A.Mi.Go = 아름다운 미녀를 사랑하면 고생한다. It's kind of a slang and it means 'If you love a pretty girl, you'll suffer!' something like that. Others say it goes like this: AH - AH reum daun (아름다운); MI - MI nyuh reul joa hamyun (미녀를 좋아하면);GO - GO saeng handa (고생한다). But it still means that same thing.

Anyway, the girl in the vid is Kim Yejin 김예진, an SM Trainee. She looks nice by the way, and she's tall. I like the song because it's very catchy. and I also love the choreography for this song. I've mentioned before that the boys are such good dancers that i love seeing them dance. Also, Taemin looks good here. I like his new hairstyle. hehe.

Bangkok: Denied!

Update on my supposed trip to Bangkok: It's Negative. Flights are still cancelled as of today. Even tomorrow's flights are cancelled. The situation in Thailand is still unstable and unresolved, so it'll probably last till December. HaAy... I've given up my hopes of going to Thailand this year. Hopefully, next year would be a good time to go. Thank God they've postponed the concert as well. Otherwise, I would have gone mad trying to figure out every possible way to go to Bangkok ASAP.

Grabe, I think I'm jinxed! Hehe. The timing was spot on. The day we're about to leave for Bangkok, that's when they (the Thais) decided to close the airport and make a protest to their PM. Parang ilang hours na lang yun before our flight. Parang sinasadya! Hahaha! I guess it wasn't the right time for me to leave the country yet. Don't you think? Aish! I'm jinxed!

But anyway, we already have a Plan B (just in case, we really can't go to Thailand this December). Our next stop would be Hong Kong-Macau. I'm praying to God that this time, we'll be able to go na. Kasi naman we can't even get a full refund of what we paid for for our Bangkok trip, so we have no other choice but to make a re-route instead. Luckily, maganda ang December sa Hong Kong because of the coming holidays. Hehe. I'm so looking forward to spending a day in Hong Kong Disneyland and visiting other tourist destinations that I wasn't able to see. Also, i'm still thinking of whether or not I'll bungee-jump off Macau Tower! Hopefully it's not that expensive. And hopefully, it wouldn't be that scary! Haha!

so hateful.

Tuesday. Congratulations to me for coming to the office at 8:34 AM today. Well, I'm four minutes late but I was inside the building by 8:00 AM, but I had to wait for the elevator which is rather annoying because it took so long. So at 8:34 AM, I was already checking my emails and I also created an account on 'My Yearbook.' It's not updated yet because there's so much to do. It kinda reminds me of Cyworld. I'll update my profile when I have the time.

Speaking of cyworld, I also visited my own cyworld account. Accepted two group invites and then read some messages. And by doing so, I came upon a dreaded picture of Changmin and that Jessica Jung. I was like... NOOOOOOOO!!! How could they do that to him? Why does it have to be her? Why her? Of all people, why her? I sure sounded crazy at that time. I was almost into tears. I couldn't stand it. I swear. It's completely repulsive. I really don't like her. I'm sorry. I tried to like her-and her group- but I just couldn't. And this picture where they were holding hands... OMG!

It's not that I'm one of those fans who doesn't want them to be paired up with another girl. I'm totally not. I just don't want HER to be paired up with THEM (which means DBSK and SUPER JUNIOR, well... especially not with Super Junior!) It's okay for me if he gets paired with Yoona though or with any other girl, just not HER! (or any other SNSD girls aside from Yoona) There's just something about her (or them) that I don't like.

Haha. I know that once this post has been read by Soshi fans, I'll be doomed! But I don't care. It's my opinion. And my blog!

--------------------------------------------------

Anyway, enough with this hate. Today, we also welcomed a new addition to our team. She's Steph. My first impression? I thought that she was snobbish but when we were with her, I find that she seems okay naman pala. I just have to get to know her first. So, we ended up eating pizza (Greenwich) which I ordered and was paid by Ate Nes. And the meeting was full of laughs. As expected. I think she'll fit well in our team seeing that she also loves to eat and laugh. Haha. It still amazes me how much she knows about pinoy teledramas!

--------------------------------------------------

After the meeting, Pam, Tey and I went to Glorietta to buy something for the kris kringle that we have. The theme for this week is something WICKED. I thought of buying the nightmare before xmas thing, but when we were in Toy Kingdom, I saw another devilish thing. So I ended up buying that little demon stuff instead.

I was planning to shop at National Bookstore but I thought against it since I couldn't find any book that I like. And I wanted to check the Mall of Asia branch first to see if that branch has all the books that i wanted to buy. I think I'll go there tomorrow.

point of no return continues...

It's the fourth day! I went to the office earlier than usual because I have like four or five pending companies that's supposed to be done by today. I guess I've been putting off too much work. My one company a day policy seems to be taking a toll on me.

So there I was, at 10 am, already working. It wasn't until 2pm today that some of my officemates and I had an "executive session" of some sort. We talked about our friends resigning. There I found out that most, if not all, of my ka-batch sa office are also planning on resigning. HaAy... Point of no return na talaga. I have to make a final decision and I have to make it fast. I don't want to be left out and eventually rott in where I am now. I do have dreams you know. I don't want to see them five years from now, successful and all, and me wondering why I'm not like them. Not even close. I don't want to think about the possibility of me actually saying... "If only I did the same thing..."

Why can't I make a decision anyway? I guess Chay was right when she said that the longer you stay, the more you'll get scared of leaving. I have to admit that I'm scared of what lies ahead of me. Scared to go out of my comfort zone. But if I continue being like that, being afraid, nothing's gonna happen to me. If I don't take the risk now, when will I find the courage to leave?

Fortunately, I do have something to look forward to this weekend and possibly divert my attention from all this, or better yet... help me make a decision. Looking forward to my weekend in Cavite. Haven't been there for quite sometime. I needed a retreat... BADLY!

point of no return III

Day three of my frustrating week. Just found out today that my other friend will possibly sign a contract with another company today. She said that she's not yet sure and that she'll just be looking at the offer and would buy sometime to think about it before she actually signs. But I'm sure she'll leave around January. Again, this made me even more frustrated.

Also earlier today, I talked to another officemate of mine. I was inviting him to come with us when we go to Batanes next March. But he said that he's not even sure if he's still here around that time... something to that effect. So I asked him if he's also resigning. And from what I got, I think there's a big possibility that he would. He's going to Singapore early next year and I think he'll also be looking for a job there. How do I know? I'll also be doing the same thing. Takes one to know one, right?

And what's with all the paranoia? You wouldn't believe the atmosphere that we have in the office right now. It's kind of like we are under constant surveillance. Feels like there's a CCTV camera somewhere in front of us watching our every move -although we do have that camera around. It's just that it feels like your every move is being watched. *Sigh* Are they afraid that there'll be a mass resignation? Well, I would if I were them. Cause it's not unlikely to happen. So, isn't now the time to think about solutions to prevent such thing from happening?

point of no return II

This really sucks! I swear! Yesterday I was so frustrated because of a colleague leaving the company. And today, I got even more frustrated because another officemate of mine is leaving as well. But she hasn't signed any contract yet but she said she'll leave around January. Damn! Naunahan na talaga ako. And to think that I was the first one to tell them that I'll soon be leaving the company. Just waiting for that bonus this coming February. I just hope that its worth the looong wait. I've been fighting the urge to resign since July because I wanted to receive that friggin' performance bonus because I worked hard for it. I just hope that it's big enough to compensate for all those losses.

But then again, it's four more months till February and a lot can happen in those four months. Maybe... just maybe... I won't be able to wait that long.

update as of 8:00 pm:

DVD Box Set

On a much lighter note, I finally got my very own copy of Super Junior's Super Show Concert DVD. I couldn't wait to watch it this weekend. Anyway, I'll also be buying DBSK's Mirotic Album. Version A has a photobook and Version B has a DVD. I'm planning to buy both but I'll settle for the photobook for now as it may get sold out. My next buy would be Super Junior M's Me album and Super Junior's Singles. --I am such a fanatic!

point of no return

Just found out today that another one of my colleague is leaving our company. HaAy... it was only last August that one of my ka-batch sa company left because she was getting married. And just about two months after she left, another one of us is leaving. This time, it's not because she's getting married. It's more of a career growth kind of thing. At her soon to be new employer, she'll be able to make use of her college education. Which is always a good thing. I mean, you didn't go to college for nothing right? You didn't endure all those rigorous course requirements if you're not planning on making use of it... Those four years (sometimes five) in college should not be put to waste! She said the offer was good and if you'll be able to make use of your education, why not grab that opportunity? right? *Sigh* Is it a sign for me to really leave as well?

It was really unexpected. Left me in quite a daze for a while. I never really imagined that she'll be leaving. Truth be told, she's not one of the usual suspects that you'll expect to leave/resign from the company. Her name wouldn't come up if you asked the question: "who is most likely to leave the company?" So, when Pam YMed me earlier this afternoon about our friend leaving, I was really... shocked? No. amazed? Quite. depressed? Yeah. Actually, my first reaction was... "OMG! naunahan pa niya ako... Buti pa siya." I remembered that those were my actual reply to Pam's message.

It was never really 'entirely' about money. Because our job pays well as compared to other companies. It's just that, in life you'll have to think of other factors besides money. And that's where the never-ending 'career growth' comes in mind.

You do have to ask yourself if this is the path you want to take. Do I imagine myself being in this company in five years time? NO. Ten years? Hell, NO! Is there a possibility for career growth in this company? Uh... NO. Well, yes if people on top would resign which is very unlikely. So my advice for myself: don't count on it. Is there a possibility for me to get promoted? Yes. But come to think of it, it took me three years & counting to get promoted to being an SA. So, the hell with promotion! Some took only a year and a half to get promoted. And besides, I don't want to get promoted because of tenure. That doesn't really say anything about you at all. It just says you're: (A) loyal, (B) stupid enough to wait for a promotion that long, or (C) no other company wants to hire you, so you got stuck with this company. And after the promotion to an SA, what's next? ---Nothing.

Anyway, I was planning on leaving this company naman some time next year. So, no worries. Was just amazed that she'll leave first. I remember telling her that I plan to leave. That I do want to leave, and I remember her saying that she might leave first, which as any unsuspecting mind would think, was just a joke. Never really took that comment seriously. Imagine my regrets now.

We actually talked for a while today. And she made me realize so many things. One that really strucked me the most was that we are replaceable. Our kind of work doesn't really require any expertise of some sort. The things that we're doing now can be done by others as well. The only thing that separates as from the others is that we're seasoned analysts. In layman's term, we're older/we were here first -which sucks by the way! The difference of our work to theirs is that we review their work. Other than that, our knowledge of the subject matter is just about the same. I mean give them a few more years, even months, and they'll be as good as us. Hire someone new now and in just a year or two, she'll be doing the same thing that we were doing -maybe even better. and the thought of it really really sucks.

Another thing that we talked about was that, she doesn't want to reach the age of 40 then think about career development. I told her, at least for her it's 40, mine was at age 30. At that time, it'll be too late to think of a career change. Way too late.

And with those things in mind, I said to myself that it's really time for me to leave too. It's kind of a 'now or never' thing. And I know that if i don't leave now, I will regret it for sure. And that's one word that I really hate. Regrets. I don't want to reach 30 and think, why didn't I leave when i was young enough? hireable enough? knowledgeable enough? I really hate words such as What if's? and If only's... because they will haunt you and torment you from time to time for the rest of your life. And I don't want to experience that. So next year, i guess i'll be tendering my resignation too.

Heechul's Tell Me dance

I really love watching this clip from Exploration of the Human Body (EHB). Love Heechul oppa's dance. His version of Sohee's 'omona!' at 1:55 is so kawaii! I was like laughing throughout this performance. i really lost it when they (Heechul, Shindong, Siwon and Hankyung) started dancing. Hankyung and Shindong's dance were so funny. They were really into it. Shindong was so good. Love it when they pretended to be shy at first but once they started... omona! ^_^

Leeteuk dancing to H.O.T.'s 'Candy'

After my post about Jang Dong Min oppa's parody of Taeyang's 'Only Look At Me,' here's another clip that I like which is also from that episode of Every1 Idol Show. I actually like that particular episode because there were so many funny scenes in that one. Anyway, here's Teukkie oppa dancing to H.O.T.'s Candy. Again I found myself laughing while watching this vid because I remember one particular episode in EHB where their MC mentioned something about Teukkie oppa possibly being a member of H.O.T. (because of his age... hehe.) And I love it when Shindong and Eunhyuk joined in. They must have danced to this song so often because they knew the dance step so well. Teukkie oppa is so kawaii! ^_^

Proverbs from First Graders

This was sent to us by Mama Sarah. I must agree, panalo ang number 1. ^_^

A 1st grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!

Don't change horses... until they stop running.
Strike while the... bug is close.
It's always darkest before... Daylight Saving Time.
Never underestimate the power of... termites.
You can lead a horse to water but... How?
Don't bite the hand that... looks dirty.
No news is... impossible.
A miss is as good as a... Mr.
You can't teach an old dog new... Math.
If you lie down with dogs, you'll... stink in the morning.
Love all, trust... Me.
The pen is mightier than the... pigs.
An idle mind is... the best way to relax.
Where there's smoke there's... pollution.
Happy the bride who... gets all the presents.
A penny saved is... not much.
Two's company, three's... the Musketeers.
Don't put off till tomorrow what... you put on to go to bed.
Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and... you have to blow your nose.
There are none so blind as... Stevie Wonder.
Children should be seen and not... spanked or grounded.
If at first you don't succeed... get new batteries.
You get out of something only what you... See in the picture on the box.
When the blind lead the blind... get out of the way.
A bird in the hand... is going to poop on you.

And the WINNER and last one!

Better late than... Pregnant.

Parody of Taeyang's Only Look at Me

OMG! I can't stop laughing while seeing this vid. I was watching one of the episodes of Every1 Idol Show on YT where the guests were the Wonder Girls. And in that episode, couple selection part of the show, gagman Jang Dong Min did a hilarious parody of Taeyang's Only Look at Me. He was like the gagman version of Taeyang. Almost everyone was literally on the floor laughing. Sohee, Yesung and Leeteuk oppa laughed the hardest. When Shindong joined in and danced with him, everyone was in hysterics. He was slapping Shindong's butt! and he even did the lying down on the floor dance of Taeyang! OMG! It was soooo funny... ^_^ Jang Dong Min oppa is the best!

Wonder Boys?!?

OMG! This is sooo funny! My fellow koreanatic sent us this link today. At first, I thought it will be an ALL-SuJu members doing a parody of SNSD's Girls Generation and Wonder Girls' So Hot. Imagine my surprise when I saw that this group is composed of members from diferrent bands and not just SuJu. Wonder Boys, comprising of Super Junior's Sungmin and Shindong, Big Bang's Seungri, 2AM's Jokwon, and SHINee's Taemin, 'debuted' yesterday (September 7, 2008) in SBS Ingikayo 500th Show's Special Stage.

Sungmin is so cute and I noticed that Shindong is really losing weight these days. I actually enjoyed Jokwon's performance here. And so does Taemin and Seungri. You can tell that they gave it their all. It's so hilarious. And I really love Jokwon's expression at 2:44! It's the best!

--too bad Heechul oppa is not here. He would have stolen the show. He is perfect for this. I initially thought that he will be part of this Wonder Boys... maybe next time though. ^_^ credits to Pocketfulofsmiles for the vid in YT.

Yipee! Finally have tickets for the SMTown Live Concert in Bangkok, Thailand. My colleague (and fellow suju addict) PatM and I were able to purchase the tickets online at Thaiticketmajor.com at exactly 8 minutes after the opening of ticket sales at 10:00 AM (Thai time) which is around 11:00 AM here in the Philippines. We purchased the one at the AR standing zone which costs 4500 Baht each. Buti na lang we sort of practiced how to purchase the ticket last friday or else it would have taken us a lot longer to buy the tickets cause we have to read pa the terms and agreements and because most of the selections were in Thai language. And we were also worried that we won't get to buy one because the pre-ordered tickets was sold out in just 3 mins. Anyway, that's all in the past, as I am now a proud owner of an AR standing zone ticket. I can finally post the details of the concert (which I will be attending) here in this blog.

The Official Poster

The concert will be held on November 29, 2008 which is approximately 3 months from now at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Here's a picture of the venue and the ticket zones:

And here are the performers of the said concert:

DBSK

Super Junior

SHINee

The Grace

Zhang Li Yin

SNSD

Grabe! I couldn't wait for this show. Imagine... 5 hours of Super Junior and DBSK! Wow! I don't even care if I'll be standing during that 5 hours. Just the thought of seeing them up close is enough for me. 3 months more... 3 months!

Pops in Seoul

I was able to watch Pops in Seoul earlier today (before I left for work) and this was the topic/question VJ Isak was discussing before the end of the show. I don't know what the title of the segment is, all i know is that it was interesting enough for me to even blog about it. So the topic/question is...

"Which member/celebrity would have still been successful even if they were a member of a different band? Or which member/celebrity would have still been successful had they been a member of a different band? (something like that...)"

First of the list was Shinhwa's Andy who could have been a member of H.O.T. I cannot give a comment because I'm not very familiar with Shinhwa.

Second was actress Lee Yeonhee who could have been a member of SNSD. There were articles I've read that she was supposed to debut with SNSD since she did train with them before she got into acting. She is actually one of my favorite korean actresses. And I think that, maybe, I would have liked SNSD more had she been a part of it... or maybe not. Hehe. I think she will be a good addition to the group since she's naturally pretty and talented. She would have stood-out from the rest.

Third was actor Lee Junki who could have been a member of DBSK. I've read about this before. There were rumors that he would have been a member of said band, I just didn't know why he didn't become one. Come to think of it, he looks the part. He looks good, he's a good dancer and he sings well. He even had his own mini-album (My Only Jun) hehe. not so sure about the title... So I think that, yeah, he would still be successful if he was a member, but I think acting is really his forte. It's what he's really good at.

Fourth was Big Bang's Seungri who could have been a member of Battle. I'm also not familiar with the group Battle. Although I'm sure that he would still be successful if he was a member of Battle, I think that Seungri is really meant for Big Bang.

Lastly, Super Junior's leader Leeteuk who could have been a member of DBSK (again!). I was a bit surprised at this one, because I'm used to having him being teased that he could have been a member of H.O.T instead. So I kind of found it a bit weird. I really couldn't see Leeteuk being a member of DBSK or any other band. That's why I'm thankful that he's with the Super Juniors. hehe ^_^ I wouldn't change their group. The thought of him being a part of H.O.T. with Tony Ahn, Kangta and the rest is funny though.

Anyway, the list is in no particular order. Just written down anything I can think of that really makes me happy. Kaya some of the things here were so mababaw! Hehe.

Shinee + Suju Happy = Miracle

Found this news on Asianfanatics.net. SHINee and SuJu Happy performed Super Junior's song 'Miracle' for Mnet's Special Stage yesterday (September 4). Kangin was not here though and I didn't get to see much of Shindong and Eunhyuk here. As usual, Yesung did well and Sungmin too. He was sooo cute here. I mean if Junsu is the cutest in DBSK, Sungmin definitely is the cutest in Super Junior. I'm not yet that familiar with SHINee since I only knew Jonghyun (because my friends like him). Anyway, it's really nice to see this kind of collaboration between the 'hyungs' and the 'dongsaengs.' Hehe. Anyway, here's the vid...

--i miss Super Junior. Hope they have a new vid or a new show!
