Just finished watching the 2009 Teen Choice Awards tonight (Studio 23). And I can't help feeling quite old seeing the young celebs now. They were like so.... YOUNG! Before, it used to be Justin Timberlake, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Britney Spears and the likes, who dominates the award show. But now, it's mostly the Disney guys --Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez... And these KIDS are like what? 14-19 years old?! OMG! I miss na tuloy those times na sina Josh Hartnett at Shane West pa ang nominees for best actor. Haha! It felt like ages ago...

Actually, I like Miley Cyrus' performance in this show. Seems to me like she's really the next Lindsay Lohan or Hilary Duff. I'm so loving her performance. It was mature enough. I thought it's going to be another Hanna Montana-ish or even a slutty performance (that's by the time she was almost 'pole dancing'). But it's not. I was amaze that she was able to carry on like that. However, I just read that there was a controversy about that particular performance. Some critics found it 'overtly sexual'. I have to disagree though. Although it was almost like pole dancing, let's just say: 'she still had class'? and its not 'stripper kind of pole dancing' anyway. It was like she just used the pole for balance. Sya nga pala... where are those two anyway (Hil and Lindsay)? Those two used to rule Disney... 2001-2004? (That's before the High School Musical guys).

Another thing, I can't help but notice how ragged-looking Robert Pattinson is... and how his right hand was on Megan Fox's waist when they were climbing up the stairs to receive their awards... Are they even that close? Hahaha! ☺

The show also has a segment called "Dare the Jonas Brothers" and I'm sorry, but I found it a bit lame. I mean, they selected a dare to do but they didn't actually do it. I think Nick Jonas was the only one who really performed his dare -and the dare was even lamer: Hug as many fans as you can. The hell... that's easy! Joe Jonas' dare was to cut his hair, but I don't think he really had it cut by Mike Tyson. And then Kevin Jonas was supposed to get a tattoo, but he got like a henna... I mean, whoever in the production staff chose those dare, seriously, why choose them when they won't or can't actually do them. I think the first dare was better... dare the Jonas brothers to wear grass skirts and do the hawaiian dance. That would have been interesting, and I think the guys can definitely do that! ☺

Anyway, enough about the guys. There are other more important matters at hand. Hahaha! And what's more important than the Jonas Brothers? Well... Britney Spears? Miss Britney received the Ultimate Choice Award which was presented by Miley Cyrus. I have to give credit to Britney for doning a very tasteful dress. At least she was really trying to make a comeback and make up for those mishaps that she had over the past couple of years. and I think that her comeback was a success, because for the first time ever, I actually liked two of her songs ('Circus' and 'Womanizer').

What else? Vanessa Hudgens was alo there with Zac Efron, of course. Then the whole cast of Twilight was there to promote 'New Moon' (which would be shown in theaters this November). Taylor Lautner and the girl who played Alice even won an award. And then Black Eyed Peas performed. Some of the familiar faces I saw were: Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Alexis Bledel, Cameron Diaz, Wolverine, Emily Osment, Ellen Degeneres... too bad Demi Lovato wasn't there. They say she couldn't make it because she's on tour.

Moving on, today was also the premier of Shining Inheritance on TV. It's a Korean drama and I was able to watch the first and the last episode. And judging from what I saw and from what I read, it's actually a good drama. The actors were all good -especially the mean stepmother. She was so convincing! Also, the lead actress is actually cute. Sometimes, she reminds me of Lee Yeon Hee (one of my favorite actresses) and the lead actor was cute enough. It was the first time I saw him. I don't know their names yet. I would look for it tomorrow. The other actor, who, of course, plays a part in the love triangle, I saw him before. If I'm not mistaken, he was part of the cast of Jumong (one of my favorite dramas). If possible, I will try and watch the second episode tomorrow. But seeing that I have lots of work to be done tomorrow, it's really not a good idea. Anyway, I'm off to bed. Night! ~
